Personal loan offered instead of reasonable entrepreneur loan

A young businesswoman calls me because she is aware that she needs financing for her project. At the first interview with her regular bank, she has been offered an expensive personal loan of EUR 20,000. As a result, their relationship of trust with the bank is disturbed for now. Because she is perfectly clear that there are better financing options.

Then the “big task” of the public development bank – must I really work it off?

In conversation with us, the young entrepreneur realises that she wants to take the considerable effort. As a precaution, she wants to apply “as a backup for her liquidity” rather equal to EUR 30,000 from a support program of the “Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau” (Germany, Frankfurt am Main). Then it is worth at least and she has peace first.

How do I get the legitimacy for my advanced idea?

A site manager from a larger architecture firm calls me, he wants to achieve that more building biology know-how is brought into the projects. His idea is to build a multi-storey wooden house with a low ecological footprint. So far, the openness for it is extremely low, because no one has ever done such a thing.

How can I put my idea to work in a good way?

First of all, I ask the site manager what he thinks is so important about building biology. What he believes, how his employees react, when the owner of the architectural office is in favor of lowering the ecological footprint. Afterwards it becomes clear in the conversation that “power must be legitimised”. We then talk about different approaches. In addition, through participation-oriented models for a successful design of such progress and which funding opportunities are available.
